Tools needed: FABSHEET-WANT (or notebook paper) and pencil/pen
What do you want? Let me have it! Every single thing you believe will make you happy! Now doesn't that sound like fun? It is!
Hi, I'm Lisa Barry, a radio DJ who's been in pursuit of a fabulous life for 20 years and I'm here to help you get unstuck from an average life and give you the tools and secrets to create a fabulous one.
In a minute I'm going to have you brainstorm a list of everything you want in life. Nothing is off limits for this list. Now, don't assume this is a trick and I'm just going to shoot down anything you might say. I won't. Nor am I implying you're going to receive everything on your list. The reason we're doing this is because until we know the truth about what your brain is telling you about where to find happiness, we won't get very far. So have fun with this exercise. The sky's the limit.
If you close your eyes and imagine a life where you say to yourself, "Now THIS is a fabulous life!", what would it look like? I'm not asking you to be practical here or even realistic. I'm asking you to write down whatever your brain decides is awesome!
Now we get to the fun part! Talking about what you want. Yippee! Get your pen and paper (or I've got an awesome printable worksheet called a FABSHEET-WANT that you can download if you're a subscriber.) Click here to download. Then grab a beverage and find a comfy place to sit because you'll want to feel relaxed and spend as long as you need on this exercise.
If you're using notebook paper, draw a line down the center and at the top of the left column write: "Things I must have to be happy". If you're using the FABSHEET-WANT, it's already divided for you and you're going to start on the left side. IMPORTANT: Be honest. If you want to be a billionaire, write it down. If you want to be an NBA star, admit it. There is no need for rationalization here and you'll find out why later. Here's another tip: Don't rush this. Take your time and let one thought germinate another one. You'll find yourself rabbit-trailing a lot and that's good. Write, write, write.
If you need some ideas to get started, think about Living close to your kids, living in a warm climate, being your own boss, being debt free, start exercising, etc. You get the idea. I recommend you take at least 30 minutes for this exercise. That's a bare minimum. Take longer if you can.
Here are a few more ideas to help you get started:
Be in a job you love
Find your passion
Like Yourself
Find good friends
Start a blog
Run a website
Open your own shop
Train for a marathon
Own your own business
Learn a language
Travel the world
Learn a new skill
Ok, there you go. Now have fun. Give yourself at least 30 minutes. If you haven't subscribed yet, click on the "Subscribe" button at the top of the page. When you're finished writing everything you want in life, come back to this spot and click here, to take you to the next step in the exercise.
